landscapes, mountain views, old towns, churches and a lot more. It is
excellent for painters, photographers and writers. If you are looking for
inspiration or need some quality concentrated time to work on a project in
a state of peaceful, calm tranquillity then this will be a great place for
you.

you: To create an inner balance in your life our health and wellbeing
services are here to offer you treatments for stress relief, rejuvenation,
relaxation or simply because you deserve to be pampered. Enjoy well
planned nutritious, quality home cooked meals to nurture and delight you.
Bird-watching and the Night sky in our garden I have seen
Buzzards, Kites (Black & Red), a Goshawk, Sparrow Hawk, Cattle Egrets, Owls, Woodpeckers
(Greater & Lesser spotted and Black), Nuthatch, Tree-Creepers, Redstarts,
Long Tailed Tits and many others. Seasonal delights are the Golden-Oriole,
Bee-eaters, Hoopoe, flocks of Plover and migrating Cranes to name but a
few. With a clear evening the night sky is amazing with awe-inspiring
views of the cosmos and Milky Way, a humbling experience.
Camping: We can offer
simple camping space in our rustic garden or large field (complete with
cows) with use of house shower room and toilet.
The Village is delightful and tranquil a real working
agricultural area with houses wide spread and a sparse population. It
offers a lovely quality of life with breathtaking landscapes and views of
the Pyrenean Mountains. There are few amenities but a wider range of shops
can be found in Castelnau-Magnoac just 3.5 kilometres away.
Castelnau-Magnoac - sits high on a hill with superb
views of the surrounding areas. Castelnau features a number of shops
including bank, post office, library, 3 bars, 2
pizzerias and a restaurant with traditional Gascony food. There is an
exhibition space and a small art gallery; a museum to the 'Corps Franc Pommies', the organisation of
the French resistance plus a memorial. A unique double spire church
dominates the town and a main square where the lively weekly
Saturday market is held. There is a large lake which attracts many
types of birds to its shores and a nearby cinema which surprisingly has many of the latest film releases; an
aerodrome where one can participate in sky-diving and tandem parachute
drops and a Naturist resort for those who like pleasures 'Au
Natural'.
Things to do:
There are so many exciting things to do
in this area such as: Hot thermal spas, skiing, snow
boarding, mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing, white-water rafting, go-karting, horse riding, hiking, bird watching, golf
and parachuting. Or you can do the best thing of all .... absolutely nothing.
Places to go:
The Pyrénées
National Park: located along the border of France and
Spain is truly outstanding
where one can see awe-inspiring natural lakes, glaciers, waterfalls and
caves. A mountainous landscape offering a variety of outdoor activities. It is a natural heritage without
barriers or fences where animals are totally free. Home to 70 different
species of animals and offers some spectacular sites for bird-watchers.
Lac Puydarrieux: An artificial
reservoir and now one of the major ornithological sites. It is
particularly noted as an important stopover for hundreds of cranes as well
as greylag geese, the great egret and occasionally white-tailed eagles,
black storks and osprey.
The Barronies: Simply
unforgettable for those who love nature and walking; a natural
region of outstanding beauty, an unspoilt, timeless world of villages, baroque churches and ancient monuments well
balanced with the green pastures, rolling hills, dense forests, crystal clear streams, waterfalls and caves. If you
love nature and walking the Baronnies are simply unforgettable.
Lourdes:
is one of the world's most famous
Catholic pilgrimage sites with over 5 million visitors a year. See the
renowned Grotte where Bernadette had her visions. It is a fascinating
place for anyone to visit. Also on the pilgrim route is the little known Notre-Dame de Garaison
also associated with miracle cures where the Virgin Mary
appeared 3 times to a young shepherdess, Anglez Sagazan.
Toulouse: A lively vibrant university city full of religious and historic treasures
with some good museums, galleries and great shopping. It is home to the
European aerospace industry where one can have a fabulous guided tour. |
